Deep Green Energy Partners believes the transformation of the world's energy system can, and should be aligned with securing the world’s basic needs for food and fresh water. Planting new energy crops on unused lands and harvesting existing harmful high energy weeds and reeds from rivers is the most effective option to secure food, feed and fuel productions and simultaneously improve water and land quality. Deploying energy crops for fuel will effectively reduce carbon emissions without delay, increase fresh water and arable land availability and provide us with climate neutral fuels for transport and electricity/heat production. The technologies and supporting policies for the profitable production of advanced biofuels from energy crops are ready and in place. What is needed now are the projects, investments and ambition to develop new, sustainable business models and supply chains that will accelerate production to the levels required to keep global warming below 2°C.
